Phonics and Handwriting

 In Te Kakano Class the students all put a lot of effort into learning the sounds letters make. This week we were learning about the letter Dd and the sound it makes in words. The Letterland character Dippy Duck helped us to remember this sound. We also practised writing this letter on our mini whiteboards and in our handwriting books.

On Fun Fridays we always find the rhyming words in our weekly poem and then illustrate the poem. This week our poem was called 'Friends'.

Swim-safe lesson 1

Cameron showed us how to put life jackets on and we showed him how we could climb safely into the pool.

Friday fun swim with Te Pihi

We are learning to be confident and safe in the water.

Week 1 

Making playdough

We followed the instructions and added the 
ingredients in the right order. We took turns
with our partner to mix until all of the
lumps were gone.

We chose a colour and kept on mixing.

We added glitter and kneaded the dough
until it was really smooth and puffy.

Now the playdough is ready for
us to use and be creative!!
