Nathanael's Learning
Nathanael has shared some of the amazing writing he has been doing at home in his bubble. He often joins in our class hangouts and always brings his big smile. Nathanael you should be proud of all the excellent learning you are doing at home. Great work! Ka pai to mahi!
Read Nathanael's interesting writing about his cool-as dog Pete.
Meet Nathanael, Sam and Pete. Sam is holding Nate's reading book that he read to us in our hangout. Fabulous reading Nathanael!
Listen to Mrs Dane reading an ANZAC story. It is called 'The Bantam and the Soldier.'

Term 2 Week 2
Kia ora koutou! Welcome everyone to the second week of term 2. It has been wonderful catching up with you in our daily hangouts at 11.00 every morning. Congratulations on the school learning you have been doing and also for all of the other creative ways you have kept yourselves happy and busy during the Covid-19 Lockdown. You are all super heroes helping New Zealand to get rid of a very nasty virus.
We also extend a special, warm welcome to Anahera Turner, Liam Brockbank and April Job who have joined the Te Kakano whanau. Their parents kindly sent in photos. We look forward to learning and playing with you when we are back at school.

Where oh where can Witana be?
Witana loves adventures! Here he is in Rotorua last holidays. He loves being up in the tree tops and hiding away where no-one can see him. He is outside doing some exploring right now. If you were Witana where would you like to go? Perhaps you could write down your ideas and read them out at our next google hangout.

Happy Easter Te Kakano
Happy Easter Te Kakano from my home to yours.
I thought I saw the Easter Bunny
Come hop, hop, hop!
So I cried, 'Hey Bunny,
will you stop, stop, STOP!"
I ran to the garden to say,
"How do you do?"
But he just shook his fluffy tail
And I said, "How do you do!"
I hope you had some Easter fun with your whanau even during 'lock down.' The only eggs I found were big, brown eggs from our hens so delicious poached eggs for breakfast it was! Yummy!!
I'm looking forward to hearing some of your Easter and lock down stories soon in our next 'google hangout' on Wednesday 15th April at 10.00 am.

Sunday April 5th
Staying at Home and keeping safe
At my house there are just two people; myself and Mr Dane. Of course I have missed all of my students from Te Kakano, the teachers, friends, my mum and dad, my children and grandchildren. However every day I am happy to stay at home because I know it is helping to stop the Covid-19 virus from spreading. You too are doing such a wonderful job keeping safe and healthy at home.
Check out this latest Wiggles video. Sing along and invent some funky dance moves.
Have a discussion with your family about social distancing. What does it mean and why should we be doing it at this time? Isn't it great that we can still talk to our friends and family on the phone or video chat with them? Join in our class Google Hangout session tomorrow 6th April at 10.00 am and share with us some of the things you have been doing at home. See you then! Follow the link.
